== Overview ==
[[File:Sodomite Symbol.jpg|alt=Sodomite Symbol|thumb|Common Sodomite Symbol]]
The Sodomites are a group of people dedicated to a lifestyle of hedonism. Although there are no true biblical connections between the Sodomites and the ancient city, modern members of this group revere the ancient reputation of the city.

Modern members of this cult have a rigorous induction path that challenges a person's sexual preferences. However, persons of any sexuality are welcome among them. The induction process includes several tasks and trials that every member must endure. There is no way to "fail" these trials, but a person's performance will greatly influence their role within the cult. Those seen as being the most successful during the inductions will ultimately be tracked towards leadership, while those who underperform will fill smaller "worker" roles.

=== Sodomite Titles & Symbology ===
Sodomites have several ways to communicate membership status and purpose. A primary method is symbology that holds specific meanings. A common symbol for Sodomites is the number "8" with three stars formed in a curve underneath the number and a depiction of the Greek word for "Love", '''ἔρως''' (érōs)[[The Sodomites#fn-1|[1]]] resting within the top loop of the number 8. Another symbol for Sodomites is a cartooned depiction of the God Eros.

Prominent female Sodomites are sometimes given the title of Little Hathor. Hathor being the Egyptian Goddess of sensuality and attraction. The Sodomites accept and venerate the Ancient Egyptian culture as being a "mother" culture of the Greeks and Romans.

'''Μικρά Ἅθωρ'''; (''Mikrā́ Háthōr'') — "Little Hathor"

Senior members sometimes gain distinctive titles among the Sodomites. For instance, a male member who has achieved a new role within the cult will sometimes begin to be referred to as a son or daughter of Eros.

'''Example: If your name is Sam, Sodomites may call you "Sam-Eros" or Samiero. Samiera is its feminine form'''.

More examples of this practice include: Jamieros, Gregieros, Ashlieros, Brittieros, etc.

Other ways Sodomites show the affinity to Eros is by attaching "Son/Daughter of Eros" to their names.

Example: '''Λούθερ Σόλτ, υἱὸς Ἔρωτος'''

(''Louthér Sólt, huiós Érōtos'') — "Luther Sault, son of Eros"

==== Additional Symbology ====
'''Other symbols used by Sodomites include:'''

* An arrowhead in the shape of an infinity symbol and the inscription of the deadly sins embedded within it.
* An image of lips with the number 8 tattooed on the bottom lip. A bead of saliva is falling from the mouth, and the tongue is erotically positionedf an open female mouth, the number 8 replacing the tongue.

----

== Founding Of the Cult of Sodom ==
The Sodomites were formed of 13 original members in the late 1990's. Those original 13 members were from all over the world, having met online through shared interests online. Through a Reddit thread, the original 13 members met and talked for over a year before finally drafting a charter and signing in person. The first gathering was conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada.

=== The Originals ===
The original 13 members consisted of 8 women and 5 men. A woman, Bailey Carter, was elected as the first chairman of the Sodomite cult. That first election set the tone for the Sodomites as an innovative group of people who weren't biased towards men or women.

The Sodomites, in their present form, have existed since 1992. Of the original 13 members, only four are still alive and are active participants in Sodomite affairs. The four remaining original members are Jason Hillman, Jasmine Foley, Rebecca Tran, and Harriet Milsap. These original members are treated with reverence among the Sodomites.

=== Public Perception ===
The Sodomites are not a very well-known organization, but for those who are aware of them, there is no consensus on the nature of the cult. Many of the informed individuals see the cult as mostly benign, and as long as they remain so, are not a threat in any way. However, there are several people who consider the Sodomites as a new form of Satanic worship. While the Sodomites do consider some of the ideas of Satanists as worth practicing, on the whole, Sodomite members are not very religious people at all. Instead, most people would understand them as being “spiritual” and not traditionally religious.

== Membership ==
Membership in the Cult of Sodom is a coveted title for those inducted, as not everyone who lives in the Sodomite compound is considered a member. Membership is achieved by completing the Trials of Induction and receiving votes of acceptance from no fewer than three current and active Sodomite members. Membership comes with several amenities and perks, especially while in the Sodomite compound. A list of amenities is as follows.

# Members can live within any of the "Homes" located on the compound property.
# Members have access to compound resources such as the Sodomite fleet, bath house, Gymnasium, and Clubhouse.
# Members are allotted a stipend based on membership level and role. Its purpose is to free its members from societal worries so that their focus rests solely on the Sodomite goals.
# Members are to train upcoming members or initiates in the ways of the Sodomite. Initiates must follow commands given by any full member.
# Members have access to funding for their own education and education for their children. The Sodomites have forged relationships with institutions all over the world for the purpose of educating their members.

=== Sodomite Attire ===
<blockquote>Members of the Sodomites typically dress in provocative, body-conscious clothing that reflects the cult’s hedonistic values. In social or festival settings, this can include colorful rave wear, bikini-inspired outfits, lingerie sets, and other shock-value ensembles, often paired with symbolic accessories or tattoos.</blockquote>A strong in-world look would be: a '''modernized Greco-Roman festival outfit''' with a sheer wrap skirt, fitted top or bralette, gold trim, and an 8-shaped accessory or tattoo motif.<blockquote>Sodomite attire often mirrors the compound’s architecture by combining classical draping, modern cuts, and ornamental details, resulting in clothing that feels both sensual and ceremonially elegant.</blockquote><blockquote>Attire associated with the Sodomites often blends classical draping and modern provocative styling, using flowing fabrics, ornate details, and symbolic motifs to harmonize with the compound’s architecture.The-Sault-Story-verse.md+1</blockquote>

== The Sodomite Temple ==
The Sodomite temple is not a "temple" in the way the word means traditionally. For Sodomite members, the "temple" functions more as a clubhouse for special events and gatherings of the members themselves. The Sodomite compound/complex is located within the Ridgeview Municipal area and was one of the first large land areas purchased from the municipality. The complex sits on 33 acres of land, tucked in a very wooded area of Middle Georgia. Mostly flat, the complex is built with several concepts in mind.

Architectural styles include classical "public" buildings that include the bathhouse, the amphitheater, and the central forum of the complex. Those buildings are connected by a Roman-style concrete road. Private homes could be built in any style and were purchased and custom-built by specific members or families who had achieved Sodomite membership. A natural creek existed on the property already and has been modified to represent the flowing waters of a gentle river through the compound.

An Ottoman-style wall enclosed the entire compound with specialized Gatehouses placed at the four cardinal directions. Upon entering the compound, visitors must first register with gate security and then be inspected at an administrative building attached to the gatehouse; any items or belongings are also inspected at this time. The grounds of the compound are meant to work with nature as well as remain contemporary, resulting in an appearance of classical and modern aesthetics. The Sodomite council is committed to renewable resources as well as low carbon footprints and thus, the Sodomite compound has become an example of developing smart, ecologically friendly infrastructure from the very beginning.

Along the inner roads of the compound are several mixed-use spaces including vegetable gardens, sitting gazebos, elaborate drinking fountains, parks, and other quality-of-life features. Every walkway is covered by a custom awning to keep high levels of sun off of the Sodomites moving throughout the compound. Driving paths are wide enough to fit one golf cart-sized vehicle going in either direction. The symbols of the Sodomites are also represented in the grounds, as the main "road" through the compound is shaped into the number 8.

=== Living Spaces ===
Sodomite members who have reached high status levels have private homes built on the compound in varying styles. Those members who are not privileged enough for private homes live in Sodomite housing based upon their roles within the cult community. Brand new members are almost always housed in the Sodomite dormitories, a co-ed inhabited building constructed in an old-world, Gregorian style. These dormitories sometimes have sporting and artistic competitions that provide unique identities for those seeking Sodomite membership.

The Moore family is an old family with roots in Northern and West Africa. Its members have connections throughout the African continent. Their original family "home" can be traced to the Carthaginian Empire. The family has a storied history with members influencing events all across the globe.

=== Origins ===
The main branch of the Moore family is believed to have its origins in Western Africa sometime before the Old Kingdom of the Egyptian civilization. Making the family almost 11,000 years old. Genetic testing of the family proves this; however, the family itself considers its beginning to be around the time of Hannibal and the city-state of Carthage. The founding member of the Moores is believed to have had a position of power within Hannibal's army and was said to have witnessed the fall of Carthage as a young boy.

==== Family History ====
The Moore family is one of a handful of families in the world that are said to retain much of the knowledge and history. Thus, the family has access to technology thought lost to the ages. It also implies the family retains what could be considered magical or esoteric abilities that could be considered magical. Other families that retain ancient abilities include the Dorsett's, the Wagnerites, the Fullers, and the Keats.

==== Family Branches ====
There are three branches of the family. Those branches being founded by one of three brothers who were alive during the time of the Malian king, Mansa Musa. One branch of the family is said to have begun when one of these brothers went with Mansa Musa on his pilgrimage to Mecca as a royal guard. He is said to have remained in the Middle east after Mansa Musa returned to Mali.

==== Family Knowledge ====
The Moore library is a collection of books and tomes the family have kept for centuries. The library is private and very rarely has anyone outside of the family ever been allowed access to it. Some of the books in the possession of the Moore family are priceless, with books such as a bible written only 20 years after the resurrection of Christ. Or, a hand-written copy of the epic of Gilgamesh.

=== The Modern Moore Family ===
Modern day Moore family members still consider the mid-sized, 2 story, 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, finished basement, with an office and storage room and a den, in SW Fulton county to be their home, but most members reside on the 200 acre property in Ridgeview, Georgia. Those members include Vanessa Moore, MD; a world renown cardiothoracic surgeon, current Patriarch of the family, Frederick Moore, and Det. Isaac Moore. These three members are who are known to the public, with other Moore family members preferring to remain out of public life.

The main home for the modern family is located in newly envisioned, unincorporated Ridgeview communities, Georgia, United States. The Moore family estate is situated on 96 acres of land in the Ridgeview area about 50 miles South of Atlanta, Georgia.

=== Magical Abilities ===
The abilities displayed by the Moore family are extremely varied. Some of the family members have abilities that are so powerful that the SCP Foundation has deemed it necessary to give that member a SCP designation. Every member of the family does not command any abilities, however, their blood does contain several traits that are not to be undervalued. True Moore family members have resistance to anomalous effects and abilities of many SCPs. The bloodline also imparts resistance to common and anomalous diseases.

=== Overview ===
Founded in West Africa and named for the salt-rich mines of its founder, the Sault family carries that history and value within their name. Table salt is a staple worldwide and essential for humanity. Very few families have held wealth for as long as the Sault family. In fact, no family has had the continuous wealth as the Saults. That wealth has shaped how the family interacts with the world. Most of its members prefer to remain anonymous. Remaining unknown and wealthy for so long has allowed them to become masters of maintaining the secrecy.

Traditionally, the Saults have had major political influence all over the world, and their financial empire has vastly diversified. Still, the salt industry has remained a primary source of family income. Part of the financial income and modern family power comes from the founding of the Sault Bank. Originally conceived in the late 1800's, the modern family members who are known have been on the board of the Sault Bank.

The Sault family is the smallest in number of all magical families. And the smallest of all the ancient bloodlines that can be effectively traced back in antiquity with any kind of certainty.

=== The Modern Family ===
The oldest direct male heir of the families founder, Abbas Sault, is considered the head of the Sault family. Thus, this eldest male heir controls the entirety of the Sault family empire. Currently, Isaac Gerald Sault is the modern patriarch of the family. Married to Beryl Sault, he has three surviving children with his wife. Their names are Sandra Sault, Sonya Sault, and Victoria Sault. His brother, John Luther Sault is the current "next in line" to the family empire should something happen to his brother. John "a.k.a", Luther Sault has no children nor is he married.

In the modern affairs of the Sault's, each of the members has a "specialty" of some sort. An area that they have some kind of mastery in.
- [1944] Birth of Issac Gerald Sault
- [1989] Birth of Luther Sault</code>
The Sault family is forever tied to the industry they derive their name from. The very first Sault family mine being in a hidden location in West Africa. Since that first one, the family has acquired and developed similar mines all over the region. Those holdings increased for two centuries and through several business transactions, the family began to expand their trade into fishing, transportation of cargo, precious metals, and into virtually any form of business that could be thought of. That influence and wealth allowed the family to survive many revolutions, hostile take overs, and even colonization of Africa by European countries.

After African colonialism, the Sault Family gradually moved itself to the America's leaving a handful of members to manage and maintain the historical family mines. Those left behind have survived to the modern day and have kept the mines location secret for nearly 2,600 years.

==== The Early Family ====
The Sault family, like the Moore Family, can trace their origins back to West Africa. The patriarch of the Saults created one of the first salt mines anywhere in the world. Hence, the family name "Sault". This, of course, made the family very wealthy. Only Mansa Musa could claim wealth greater than this family, as the Sault family salt mine has been productive for nearly 2,500 years.

The phrase worth its weight in salt comes from the value that salt has, as it's essential for food preservation.

=== The Blacksault Family ===
The Blacksault Family is a sub-branch of the Sault family that derives their name from the original family and the expansion into mining '''''Kala Namak''''', otherwise known as black salt. The first to take up the name Blacksault would be Jensin Blacksault and his wife, Amira Blacksault. The exact year this subdivision occurred is unknown, but the Blacksault family has existed for at least 1,900 years.

The Clans of Blueridge have existed for at least 1,500 years. Their culture one that has existed without change for all of that time. Only recently have the Clans been actively adapting to contemporary times. The clans can be broken down into three major tribes; the Warwood, the Hollards, and the Azulren.

== The Clans ==

=== The Azulren ===
The Azulren people are primarily located in the Northern most parts of Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, and parts of Ohio. They represent the most modern of the Blueridge Clans having begun to venture into some cities during the time of Western expansion in America. They found themselves in cities such as Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit and Richmond. It is during those travels that the Azulren people have their affinity to learn about modern things. Azulren are proud and creative thinkers. Auburn and a deep brown hair color, attractive features and purple eyes were typical of an Azulren.

* '''Enhanced Learning/Adaptability:''' Given their "affinity to learn about modern things" and being "proud and creative thinkers," they could have a natural aptitude for quickly understanding and mastering new technologies, languages, or complex systems.
* '''Urban Camouflage/Blending:''' While the Hollards have Mist walking, the Azulren's experience in cities might grant them an innate ability to blend seamlessly into urban environments, becoming unnoticeable in crowds or navigating complex cityscapes with ease.
* '''Technological Intuition:''' A natural understanding of how technology works, allowing them to intuitively repair, modify, or even create advanced devices.
* '''Persuasion/Charisma:''' Their "attractive features" and creative thinking could translate into a strong ability to persuade others, negotiate, or lead in social and business settings.

=== The Hollards ===
[[File:A Hollard slipping through mountian fog..jpg|alt=A Hollard man moving through a foggy mountain.|thumb|A Hollard man moving through a foggy mountain. ]]
People of the Hollards have a way they move through the fog and smoke of the mountains. They can retreat into the fog at will and reappear instantaneously somewhere else. As long as there's fog, they can move. There aren't many tall Hollards, but what they lack in height is more than made up for in tenacity and strength. Hollards are athletic and limber. Characterized by hair usually short-cut and grey eyes that shine silver in the moonlight.

* '''Advanced Mist walking/Fog Manipulation:''' Beyond just moving through fog, they could potentially manipulate it – thickening it, directing it, or even creating small pockets of mist to obscure vision or muffle sound.
* '''Supernatural Agility/Stealth:''' Their "athletic and limber" nature, combined with their ability to move through fog, suggests heightened agility, silent movement, and an uncanny ability to evade detection.
* '''Fog-Enhanced Senses:''' Their grey eyes that "shine silver in the moonlight" and their comfort in fog could mean their senses (sight, hearing, smell) are significantly enhanced when in misty conditions.
* '''Short-Range Teleportation (Fog-Bound):''' The phrase "reappear instantaneously somewhere else" strongly suggests a form of short-range teleportation, but strictly limited to areas with fog.

=== The Warwood ===
The Warwood are the protectors of the "Old Ways", rooted in tradition and protected by isolation. Warwood can be found anywhere in the Blueridge and will fight tooth and nail for what they consider theirs. Characterized by long hair that hangs like the leaves of weeping willows. The hair so black that there's tinges pf purple and green that appear in direct sunlight. Smoldering eyes that were bright and glowed like embers.

* '''Intimidation/Presence:''' Their "smoldering eyes that were bright and glowed like embers" could give them a naturally intimidating presence, making others wary or submissive.
* '''Enhanced Durability/Resistance:''' Their willingness to "fight tooth and nail" and protect their traditions could mean they possess a natural resilience to physical harm or environmental stressors.

== Tribe Customs ==
All of the Clans have their specialties and peculiarities. But all the Clans share core cultural features that apply to the entire collection of the Blueridge clans.

=== Moon Cycles, Lunar Based ===
Time for the Clans of Blueridge is kept by the moon. Wise Luna guiding them day by day. Every event of importance for the Clans falls somewhere on the lunar cycle. Things happen more quickly on the lunar calendar. Most significantly, every New Moon counts as a period of survival. This survival is thus acknowledged by stating "How Many Moons I've been alive"… Or, someone might ask, "How many moons ago?"

=== Mistwalking ===
Mistwalking is a gift of the Clans. An ability to walk through the mists with the confidence of natural ability. The clans are masters at camouflaging/hiding themselves and their homes within the fog and smoke of the Blueridge mountains. Many Clansmen perform the feat unconsciously and even young children are known to have the ability.
Characterized by hair usually short cut and grey eyes that shine silver in the moonlight.

=== The Warwood ===

== Tribe Customs ==

=== Mistwalking ===

== Important Clansmen ==
Bren Ridley (Hollard)

Stacy Ridley (Hollard)
== Overview ==
The Sault Labs is a research complex dedicated to the genetic research on all manner of life on the planet. It's primary directive being to improve the understanding on biological systems and how to manipulate them to be beneficial to the Agency. In some cases, the SCP Foundation as well. The labs fulfill several purposes. Primarily the study of SCP's for the Furtive Agency. The Labs are maintained by The Sault Family (Iyò) and their vast wealth.

The main complex is located at secret coordinates in the Blueridge mountains of northern Georgia and Southern Tennessee. The location chosen for it's difficult terrain and relative seclusion. The complex has several nodes. Each node is in the shape of a pyramid and is hollowed out. Within the hollow spaces are the operational components of the complex. The pyramid shape is used to harness the natural energies of the Earth.

== Research & Development Center ==
There are several sub-divisions that exist within the Sault Research Complex. Each of them serve a purpose and have added function of being completely independent through the modular construction of the labs. This lab is also responsible for the development of the LSV-1 Scarab.

=== Botany Labs ===
The Botany Labs are a more recent addition to the research complex. While they have not contributed to the SCPs or functions of the Agency or Foundation, the progress in the division has shown great potential. Anomalous plant life discovered around the world are brought to the attention of those working at the Sault Labs, where experts in anomalous plants go into the field and collect, analyze and when needed, destroy plants that pose great threats to humanity.

=== Biolabs ===
The Biolab division is responsible for several SCPs in the recent years. SCPs such as SCP-74616 and '''SCP-9223''', just to list a few. These SCPs have been developed to assist Agency and Foundation personnel during field assignments. Those SCPs have become part of many types of Agency and Foundation units. In some cases, critical pieces.

Agency personnel working with some of the SCP's assigned by Biolabs have experienced an increase of survival rates and fewer cases of mental breakdown since implementation of the SCP's in the field. Especially in the more dangerous anomalous events. This has been especially useful in scenarios where time and or reality have become warped. Specifically, these new biological SCP's with time and reality bending resistance have been used to combat the results of the Mandela Effect.

== The Sault Menagerie ==
The Menagerie is a result of the experiments within the Biolabs. Successful experiments are then housed and studied within the menagerie for further testing and research purposes. These creatures are being studied for their properties and whether those properties are the result of their genetic makeup or if their properties are anomalous.

'''<nowiki>'''Creatures in the Menagerie'''</nowiki>'''

The menagerie differs from the other labs in several ways. Creature in the menagerie are no longer being studied nor are they suitable for use in an Agency or Foundation team. Usually, the creatures in the menagerie are too dangerous to live out their lives in nature and have no other location on planet that can house them suitably. On rare occasions does an animal get relocated from the menagerie as in most cases, that creature will die within the menagerie walls.

== Overview ==
Gaia Station is a large-scale project developed by Sault Labs, currently under development on the far side of the Moon. The goal is to develop a long-term solution for interstellar human habitation. The project is funded by the Sault Family (Iyò), specifically due to the work of Dr. Edward Sault, a physicist and visionary. His work on fusion energy has spearheaded the Gaia station project and other off-world projects.

== Description ==
Gaia Station is a massive habitat, circular in design, that allows Gaia Station to spin, generating its own gravity. The station has 3 distinct sections. The central section, simply called the node, is where many of the core navigational and propulsion systems are placed. The node is a circular disk that has a diameter of 900 yards and a depth of three stories. At the center of this disk is the core. The core is protected by a tungsten/orichalcum alloy approximately 6-9 feet thick. The core itself is a SL.v3 Fusion reactor developed by Sault Labs. Additionally, the roots of a large, genetically modified tree surround the central node.

The node has three concentric circles built around it. The first ring is 96 meters wide, with the following rings at 66 and 36 meters. The modules that make up these rings are modular and variable. Some are scientific and research-based. Others are recreational zones, and habitats are spaced incrementally around the first and second rings. The third ring is reserved for scientific, defense modules, cargo, and other auxiliary functions.

== The Rings ==

=== Ring 1 ===
The first ring of Gaia station is 96 meters wide and contains chambers and pods that are modular in nature. These pods are the primary components for habitats and other utilities. These pods are uniform on their exteriors to maintain modular synchronicity, but the internal mechanisms are customized to their purpose. Most of the habitats intended for human beings living day-to-day are located within this first ring and have life support systems embedded in each. These pods also have an ejection feature that allows any piece to be jettisoned to save the rest of the station if need be.

=== Ring 2 ===
The second ring is like the first, but with additional features for scientific research and recreation placed at incremental intervals along the ring. This ring also includes observation decks, space labs, storage components, and other modules for anything the station needs. There are also special modules for medical emergencies, for farming, and a special unit for synthesizing proteins for meat.

=== Overview ===

=== The Modern Family ===

== Family History ==
<code>- [1280] Birth of Mansa Musa
- [1281] Birth of Abbas Sault
- [1297] Sault Mines discovered
- [1299] Abbas Sault est. Sault family line.

<code>- [1989] Birth of Luther Sault
- [1999] Y2K Fears begin
- [2007] Luther Sault Graduates Highschool
- [2010] Luther Sault begins anomalous training</code>

==== The Early Family ====

=== The Blacksault Family ===

"When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, 'My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.' The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown."

The "Men of Renown" referenced in Genesis 6:1-4 are often misrepresented as ancient Greek heroes, such as Herakles or Jason. While those men may have existed and could have a blood relation to the Nephilim, they were not ''the'' "Men of Renown" mentioned in Genesis. That passage references heroes from an epoch that has no name. In an age so ancient, modern humanity is just beginning to reconcile the fact that civilizations have walked the Earth for close to 500,000 years.

== Ancient Lineage ==
There are many stories of individuals with extraordinary abilities from every culture on Earth. These abilities are wide-ranging in nature, from healing and telekinesis to the manipulation of energies. Many of these abilities come from the natural progression of evolution within a species. Abilities that manifest most strongly in individuals have a high likelihood of descending from the Nephilim. Those bloodlines emerge in the magical families within the Sault Story-verse. (See Magical Family Relations).

=== Sodomite Titles & Symbology ===

==== Additional Symbology ====

=== The Originals ===

=== Public Perception ===

== Membership ==

=== Sodomite Attire ===

== The Sodomite Temple ==

=== Living Spaces ===

<blockquote>Astarte was worshipped from the Bronze Age through classical antiquity, and her name is particularly associated with her worship in the ancient Levant among the Canaanites and Phoenicians, though she was originally associated with Amorite cities like ''Ugarit'' and ''Emar'', as well as Mari and Ebla. She was also celebrated in Egypt, especially during the reign of the Ramessides, following the importation of foreign cults there. Phoenicians introduced her cult in their colonies on the Iberian Peninsula.</blockquote>

== The Cult ==
In the early 2010's, the deity Astarte was becoming popular again, especially among young women in the adult sex industry. Born from a sect of feminism that prioritized independence and taking control of your life, these women were fighting for their right to be as sexually liberated as any male counterpart. The Daughters of Astarte are feminists at heart, but believe traditional feminism to be too rigid and unwilling to accept the chosen profession of adult/sex work. Many members have faced judgement and harsh treatment from other feminists. This led to the split and the initial formation of the Cult of Astarte.

During the Trump administration of the 2020's, many women, especially immigrants, were constantly in fear of arrest and deportation. This led to a high number of members coming from foreign backgrounds. During this time, tariffs and global trade wars intensified the wealth gap. This intensified wealth gap often pushed vulnerable populations, particularly women, to the economic fringes, where adult/sex work became a means of survival and independence.

These women do not engage in the traditional movement of feminism; instead, they opt to practice their professions and faith in private. In Ridgeview, the cult operates openly. The Municipality's laws allow them to do so freely.

=== Symbology ===
The members of the Cult of Astarte often wore a talisman of raw garnet, encased in copper wire. Other symbols for members are the horse & chariot, the lioness, or a dove in flight. Jade & silver are also used often in works of art and jewelry. Jade is also reflected in the clothing of women who are members of Astarte. Usually worn woven into the fabric of their skirts or dresses.

=== History ===
In various cultures, Astarte was connected with some combination of the following spheres: war, sexuality, royal power, beauty, healing and — especially in Ugarit and Emar — hunting; however, known sources do not indicate she was a fertility goddess, contrary to opinions in early scholarship. Her symbol was the lion and she was also often associated with the horse and by extension chariots. The dove might be a symbol of her as well, as evidenced by some Bronze Age cylinder seals.

The only images identified with absolute certainty as Astarte are these depicting her as a combatant on horseback or in a chariot. While many authors in the past asserted that she has been known as the deified morning and evening star, it has been questioned if she had an astral character at all, at least in Ugarit and Emar. God lists known from Ugarit and other prominent Bronze Age Syrian cities regarded her as the counterpart of Assyro-Babylonian goddess Ištar, and of the Hurrian Ishtar-like goddesses Ishara (presumably in her aspect of "lady of love") and Shaushka; in some cities, the western forms of the name and the eastern form "Ishtar" were fully interchangeable.

=== In the story-verse ===
Ridgeview, is a haven for individuals and groups that were seeking a place to practice their faith in the way they chose. And to do so away from the public eye. Away from the scrutiny that groups all over the world were facing more often. The Cult of Astarte was part of that migration. They established themselves in a four acre compound in West Ridgeview.

== Practices ==
The women who were members most often came from prostitution or some other form of sex work. These were women who were confident in themselves and boasted no shame. More often than not, they held great pride in their chosen profession. Members of Astarte are often called "The Daughters of Astarte".

Seasoned members are always available to those who recently joined or have an interest in joining. The Daughters of Astarte don't recruit; instead, they maintain an open-door policy for any woman seeking refuge or information. At the headquarters and satellite locations worldwide, the cult offers seminars and conferences that engage with sex workers and other adult entertainers. These events provide information and resources.<blockquote>Members often utilize Cult resources whenever they purchase cars or homes. This assistance makes sure no Daughter of Astarte is taken advantage of at the negotiation table.</blockquote>Information regarding legal rights, literacy, financial growth and management, and health are all touched upon during these events. The administrative branch of the cult relies upon its members and their extensive contacts to gain special advantages for members. Housing and transportation are major aspects of their efforts. The cult also maintains several properties worldwide for the permanent and temporary housing of its members.

The Cult has safe houses and bunkers underneath most of their satellite locations that offer protection for any woman that asks. They work alongside groups and organizations that assist women who are facing domestic violence or have "pimps" that are violent.

== Members ==
Members of Astarte are often young women who've sought out camaraderie and safety. Members of the cult are never in public alone. Sticking to groups of two or three individuals whenever they travel. These women work in the adult industry as either escorts/prostitutes, webcam performers, or erotic dancers.

The Daughters of Astarte are very racially diverse. Any woman over the age of 18 who wishes may join. High numbers of women of Latina, Caribbean, and African American descent are active members, as those are the same women who primarily turned to adult/sex work in times of economic struggle.

== Headquarters ==
The Cult of Astarte calls their compound in West Ridgeview as their headquarters. The exterior of this compound is constructed in the style of a Southern plantation home surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The grounds have natural Oak and Pine trees along with other native bushes. On the western side, a large green house contains a variety of native and imported plant species that the cult uses for medicines, balms, and rituals. To the east is a small 2000 sq foot library containing classics and modern offerings in a variety of subjects. The backyard is cordoned off by a barrier of evergreen trees and contains a Olympic sized swimming pool, a bath house and other recreational features.

== Overview ==
The Mandela Effect is a term used to describe a collective false memory or the perception that a large number of people have of an event or information that is actually incorrect. It is named after Nelson Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and political leader, who many people thought had died in prison in the 1980s, even though he was actually released in 1990 and passed away in 2013. The term was coined by paranormal researcher Fiona Broome, who observed that a significant number of people shared the same false memory about his death.

=== Hypothesized Events ===
The Mandela Effect encompasses a range of phenomena where people recall events, names, lyrics, and even the way products or logos looked in a way that differs from historical records or widely accepted facts. Some common examples include:

# The Berenstain Bears/Berenstain Bears: Many people swear that the popular children's book series was originally titled "The Bernstein Bears," even though it has always been "The Berenstain Bears."
# The "Life is like a box of chocolates" quote from "Forrest Gump": Some recall the quote as "life is like a box of chocolates," while the actual line is "life was like a box of chocolates."
# The color of the "E.T. phone home" poster: Some claim the poster showed E.T.'s finger pointing up with the text in blue, but it was actually pointed down with the text in red.
# The "C-3 PO" droid in Star Wars: Some people remember C-3 PO having a silver leg in the original trilogy, but he actually had a gold leg in all three movies.

The Mandela Effect is not a scientifically proven phenomenon and is often associated with confabulation, the brain's tendency to fill in gaps in memory with plausible but incorrect details, or with the misinterpretation of similar memories. It may also stem from the way information is processed and remembered, the influence of media and social interactions, and the spread of misinformation. Some explanations also venture into the realms of parallel universes or time travel. However, the most accepted explanation is that it is a psychological and social phenomenon, highlighting the fallibility of human memory and the power of collective consciousness.

== Ridgeview & Sault Story-verse ==
Mandela Effects are the main factor in determining/setting off the events all over the Sault Story-verse. They are mechanisms to get the story going. The "'''Cause'''" in ''Cause & Effect''.
